Wildflower Seed Collecting at Stirling University
Join the Green & Blue Space at Stirling Students’ Union for a hands-on wildflower seed collection session as part of the Forth Valley Biodiversity Festival.
Help us collect Yellow Rattle seeds from the University’s wildflower meadows and support our ongoing work to boost biodiversity across campus by enhancing wildflower habitats.
Yellow Rattle is often known as the “meadow maker” because it naturally reduces the growth of vigorous grasses. As a semi-parasitic plant, it draws nutrients from grass roots, creating space for a greater variety of wildflowers to thrive. By collecting and redistributing its seeds, you’ll be helping to establish richer, more diverse meadows that benefit pollinators and other wildlife.
No experience is needed, and all equipment will be provided. Just come along in weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear.
