Head for the Hub
Our Hubs are where we help people make everyday changes that let them, their communities and the planet thrive. They’re where you can get involved with FEL projects – or get the support you need to start your own.
They’re a place to meet, learn and build confidence and skills. Somewhere to share experiences, knowledge and success. They’re where you can make your own change happen. Project by project.
Our first Hub opened in Stirling in 2013. It promoted active travel for local people and was the first of its kind in Scotland.
Since then, what we offer has grown with our experience and ambition.
Our Hubs can still get you riding a bike, but now they can show you how to grow your own veg too. They can point you to where you can get the skills you need to repair instead of replace. They can connect you with the natural world around you. They can help you build a better neighbourhood.
Our Hubs are about more than learning and doing – they’re social, collaborative places too.
Drop in and meet others with the same interests and see how they’re tackling the same issues as you. Share ideas and solutions.
And if you can’t come to us, our Hubs can come to you.
We make the environment meaningful by making it personal. Showing people what’s possible where they live, work and learn can make powerful change simple to make.
So our Hub outreach programme takes everything we offer into schools, businesses, and health and community settings.
Changing your world for the better. Project by project. Hub by Hub.
The ebike trial gave us the chance to try cycling again as we had not had bikes for a long time. I think an e-bike gives the option of using it without power if you want and also the option of extra power if you need or want it. We go further on our e-bikes."
NHS Forth ValleyFollowing damage to my back it was suggested I should consider cycling to aid my rehab. The E-bike loan scheme was instrumental in helping me to understand the benefits this technology had to offer and I was hooked from the first ride. "
ALANThe cargo bike was a fantastic asset to GBT and the local community, especially throughout the pandemic. We have since thought more about how bikes can be used in all our services and how they can be used to transport local goods. "
Getting Better Together CaféHaving the opportunity to try different types of e bikes and accessories before buying takes away a lot of the risk of choosing the wrong bike to start with. This has been a really good experience, fab bikes, great advice and helpful staff, can’t ask for more."
eBike library customerI have loved having an e bike. To be honest I never really saw the point of them because bikes are for exercise however, having that boost helped me to go further safe in the knowledge I could get home It was a great experience and I’ve loved having the bike."
eBike library customerStaff that provide this scheme have been very supportive and flexible in allowing out of normal hours collections and drop off. I will encourage others to take up this scheme in future."
