Tamfourhill Young People’s Climate Event – Friday 6th March
On Friday 6th March, FEL Scotland is helping to deliver a Young People’s Climate Event at Tamfourhill Community Hub, from 4:00pm – 6:30pm.
The event is being run alongside other partners for the Safer Communities Youth Action Project (SCYAP), who are working with young people across Tamfourhill, Camelon and Bantaskin to encourage youth-led action and enable change.
This event will be a fun and interactive way for 10–16-year-olds to get involved in climate action and participate in activities and workshops. It will also be an opportunity for young people to learn about and contribute their ideas to the community climate action plan.
Some of the activities will involve: Trying out the FEL smoothie-generating bike and sustainable energy bike, growing and planting activities, building bird nesting boxes, workshops on green careers and jobs in sustainability, and discussions around the impacts of climate change.
Organisations running workshops and participating in the day include: Safer Communities Youth Action Project; Tamfourhill Tenants & Residents Organisation; Scottish Wildlife Trust Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels Project; FEL Scotland; The Conservation Volunteers; and CVS Falkirk.
The event is free and open to all 10-16-year-olds who are interested in community climate action. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Please arrive a few minutes early for a 4pm start.
There is no need to book in advance, but if you have any questions, please contact John Hosie (Community Safety Engager, Tamfourhill Tenants and Residents Organisation) on 07391 524 528 or by emailing: john@ttrohub.co.uk
