Local Knowledge and Lived Experience Event Fund launches, as part of region-wide climate adaptation planning
We’d like to hear your stories of climate change impacts, and better understand your local priorities for climate adaptation.
As part of its Climate Ready Forth Valley project, FEL Scotland is offering funding to help community groups come together to share their lived experience and local knowledge, and to help shape the future of climate adaptation across the Forth Valley.
Working with Local authorities in Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling, FEL Scotland has commissioned an Economic Impact Assessment to lay out the effect climate change is likely to have on the economy in the Forth Valley in the years to come. It will also provide recommendations on investment and adaptations that could reduce impacts down the line.
While this report will help understand the impact climate change and localised extreme weather events might have economically in the decades to come, it can’t capture the human experience. That’s why it’s essential we build in lived experience, local knowledge through community voices too.
Your stories will also help shape future regional, climate ready adaptation strategy to make its priorities meaningful and relevant to the people and places of the Forth Valley.
Funding is available to:
- Organise an event to engage your community whether round a kitchen table or in a community centre.
- Bring people together to talk about what climate adaptation means to them
- Share community stories, values, and ideas to inform the Economic Impact Assessment and future strategy and ensure local knowledge and lived experience are part of future climate related decision-making
Funding of £225 or more is available for eligible, constituted groups with their own bank account to cover all reasonable costs of hosting events, including venue, catering and accessibility. Groups will also receive a resource pack, along with one-to-one support from the FEL team.
Eligible Forth Valley based and constituted groups are invited to apply at
