Forth Valley Celebrates Climate Action – with a long table lunch

Join us for an exciting day of inspiring talks, creative nature-based workshops, and connections over fantastic local food as we celebrate local climate action and drive positive change.

This event, hosted in partnership with Scotland’s International Environment Centre, highlights the incredible work achieved through our Climate Action Small Grants programme—showcasing innovative, community-led projects. As well as other initiatives connected via the Forth Valley Climate Action Hub.

This free event is open to individuals, communities and organisations. Come along to celebrate, connect and be inspired to take action for a greener Forth Valley.

Morning session 10.15-12.30pm

FEL ScotlandForth Valley Climate Action Hub – short film highlighting a local funded group

Key Speaker: Mairi Breslin, founder of Radical Weavers, leads a social enterprise dedicated to transforming lives through creativity and community. Their workshops go beyond weaving—they encourage self-expression, exploration, and shared experiences. Open to all abilities, these sessions provide a welcoming space to learn new skills, connect with others, and discover new possibilities. Join us as Mairi shares her inspiring insights on the impact of creative expression and meaningful connections.

Networking “Speed Dating” – Show & Tell An interactive session where attendees can present their projects, ideas, or initiatives, receive feedback, and connect. Participants are invited to bring an item that prompts a conversation around your organisation, group or idea.

Lunch & Networking 12.30-13.30pm

Enjoy a vegetarian lunch catered by Turnip the Beet, who have provided us with a delicious, exciting environmentally friendly menu.

Afternoon Session, workshops and table talks 13.30-15.30pm

Rox from Movement in Thyme, a grassroots non-profit aimed at creating sustainable, resilient communities, improving mental and physical wellbeing and reducing social isolation through our community herbal workshops, movement activities, gardening and social justice events. “Herbal medicine is used by 80% of the world’s population and yet the effects of climate change on medicinal herbs has been largely overlooked in the climate literature.”

Paul and Jo from Green Aspirations to learn about the benefits of coppicing – an ancient form of woodland management that provides renewable materials while also increasing biodiversity.

Table Talks

Join climate speakers in small, facilitated discussions with FEL staff on hand to record insights.

Donna Wood – CEO, Good Green Futures

Donna Wood will discuss Good Green Futures’ most ambitious project yet—a partnership with nine charities dedicated to promoting sustainable consumption. This new initiative aims to establish a large-scale, accessible facility featuring a marketplace for pre-loved items, a library of things, repair services, and Makerspaces. This project will serve as a hub for sustainable practices and community collaboration, encouraging the circular economy and reducing waste.
