Food Pantries Networking Lunch

15.02.2024 | jemma

Early in February, we gathered several volunteers and workers from food pantries and community fridges in the extended Forth Valley area together. The purpose of this lunch was to allow time for vital connection, networking, and knowledge sharing.

The day started with a tour of our partner, Transition Stirling’s, excellent food reuse project, which is also where the lunch was hosted. Amanda showed guests around and there was time for a discussion on pantry working practices, challenges and solutions.

Scottish Food Pantries Network also sent on a representative to talk about their experience and to assist in signing up. A delicious lunch from Nooch followed, an all-vegan offering of macaroni cheese, Gardener’s Pie, and chocolate cheesecake to follow.

A vital part of the day was the ability to engage in meaningful discussion, and to connect for future collaboration. We hope to be able to run a similar event in the future.
