Climate & Energy Gathering 2026: Post-Event Report & Next Steps
On the 28th April 2026, we organised the Climate and Energy Gathering at the Barracks Conference Centre in Stirling. It was a hugely successful day with a turnout of 144 individuals from community groups, local authorities, industry, academia and third-sector organisations coming together to discuss climate and energy action across the Forth Valley.
Our aim for the event was to create a space for discussion and collaboration around the increasing urgency of climate change, energy insecurity and the transition to net zero. We covered topics such as community energy, practical approaches to retrofit and energy efficiency, how to best help communities to transition toward low-carbon systems, how health and wellbeing are related to climate and energy, and what challenges are associated with reducing energy demand. The feedback we received was really positive, with a 4.63/5 score from participants who noted increased awareness, stronger partnerships and valuable networking opportunities as key takeaways from the day.

Future Power
Using some of the outcomes from the Climate and Energy Gathering, we are now organising co-design workshops for our Forth Valley Future Power project – an initiative exploring how income from renewable energy could be shared and reinvested locally across Forth Valley.
