12.11.2025 | jemma

We are currently running two leadership programmes side-by-side, with participants welcome to earn a certificate of leadership by building their own schedule of learning.

All events and opportunities are here: FEL Scotland Events – 11 Upcoming Activities and Tickets | Eventbrite

Our Climate Leadership Programme supports emerging community climate leaders across Forth Valley to grow skills, confidence and connection as they take climate action in their local places.

Built around our 3-Steps to Sustainability approach, the programme brings together:

Practical Skills

Hands on learning to help you take meaningful climate action in your community. From food growing to biodiversity and sustainable living practices.

Leadership Skills

Support to build your confidence, develop your voice, and lead positive change, in ways that reflect your values and your community.

Place-Based Learning & Inspiration

Exploring local landscapes, projects and people, learning from what’s already happening and sparking ideas rooted in your place.

You’ll take part through a mix of online workshops, learning visits, peer-networking sessions and resilience support, delivered with our partners including the Social Enterprise Academy, Social Farms & Gardens, TCV and Welcome Brain.

Everyone is welcome to join, and support is available to help you take part. Get in touch and we’ll be happy to work with you to find what suits you best. Climate@FELScotland.org

Complete one activity from each pathway, and you’ll receive a Climate Leadership Certificate recognising your contribution and connection to your local Climate Action Hub.

Spotlight on Leadership Workshops

As part of the Leadership strand, here are two key workshops we’re excited to highlight:

Volunteer Leadership Training for Community Growers with Social Farms and Gardens – Tuesday 2nd December in person at Polmont Community Hub.

As a community garden leader based in Falkirk or the Forth Valley you need to know how to include people and co-create a great volunteering experiences. To sustain community growing spaces and keep everyone safe, you’ll need to understand how to put in place the right boundaries, policies and procedures for your space.

This training is an overview of best-practice volunteering approaches, with plenty of examples from across the uk-wide Social Farms & Gardens membership.

This programme consists of two half days and is specifically for community groups, small businesses, social enterprises, and other organisations in the Forth Valley area to examine and develop their organisational and financial sustainability, whilst helping them to tackle the climate emergency at the same time.
