Wallace High Active Travel Hub
Wallace High School is our newest Active Travel School Hub, opening in September 2025.
The school benefits from excellent walking and cycling links, including the Walk, Cycle, Live network and National Cycle Route 765. Thanks to this, Wallace High already sees strong levels of active travel among its pupils. However, staff observed a noticeable drop in walking and cycling from S3 onwards.
This insight has helped us shape our support where it’s needed most. To kick off the launch of the hub, we delivered an active travel roadshow with the full S3 year group, focusing on building confidence, motivation, and positive attitudes toward walking and cycling as pupils move into their senior phase.
Throughout the 2025/26 school year, we’ll be working closely with a selected group of pupils completing their SCQF Level 4 in Cycle Maintenance. Alongside this, the group will take part in led rides around Stirling to help build cycling confidence. The sessions have already been well received, with many other senior pupils expressing interest in getting involved.
