Lornshill Hub

The Lornshill High School Active Travel Hub was the first of its kind in Scotland when it was implemented in 2018. Since then, the Hub has supported pupils, staff, and families in becoming more active and has increased the use of sustainable transport across Clackmannanshire.

The Active Travel Hub offers a range of activities designed to develop skills and boost confidence in various modes of active transport. At Lornshill pupil-led groups have also supported multiple community projects, including litter picks and foraging walks. The Lornshill High Active Travel Hub has achieved excellent results as a direct outcome of our longstanding history in the school, and school cycling rates are now nine times the national average. Lornshill has served as the blueprint for our seven other Active Travel School Hubs.
