Balfron School Hub

Balfron High School was the second school in Stirling to have an Active Travel Hub. Launched in 2023 and now moving to its second year, the hub aims to tackle the unique barriers to active travel due to its rural location though its Healthy Minds programme, led walks, cycle skills and community outreach events. Unsurprisingly, skateboarding is the most popular activity at Balfron with pupils from P5 to S6 all taking part in sessions. As the project moves onto its second year, it looks to expand its SQA bike maintenance qualification to allow more pupils to take part in cycling and leave school with practical qualifications for work.
