Polmont Community Hub are hosting, HOPE!:Six inspirational environmental films over 6 Weeks followed with discussion and action starting,
Wednesday 19 August

7-9pm and weekly for six weeks.
Hope! Is a documentary series rooted in active optimism. It amplifies the stories of communities worldwide who are regenerating the planet and building a more just future.
Filmed across 17 countries on 4 continents, it gathers over 40 solutions already having a positive impact on Earth.

Each Session will start with a film. All films are around an hour long. As the films highlight inspiration from across the globe, all films include multiple languages and are subtitled.
The films will spark conversation. Following the film there will be an opportunity for everyone to briefly share the elements of the film which inspired them with hope over a hot drink. Explore Actions which could be taken forward in our community and individually.
Not everyone will be able to attend all six films.
You do not need to come to them all- come along when you can.

Javier Peña, environmental divulgator, takes us on a journey across 17 countries, full of

Hope! Two “The Power of Two Words” – Weds 26th August
All change begins with two words: “What if…?” What if there were another way to produce our
food that would allow us to better manage water and natural resources and reduce emissions?
What if there were another way to design our cities, to heat and cool our homes…?
Hope! Three: Metamorphosis 56 mins – Weds 2nd September
What if another economy were possible? We discover doughnut economics
and learn how we can thrive without depleting our planet’s finite resources.
Guided by Kate Raworth we will explore doughnut economics and
understand how we can thrive without depleting with our planet’s finite
resources.
Hope! Four: The Invisible 55 mins – Weds 9th September
This episode explores key solutions that make visible actions that bring us closer to winning
the battle against climate change.
Hope! Five: The Great Transformation 57 mins – Weds 16th September
A future in which cities not only improve the quality of life of their inhabitants but also manage
to balance renewable energy production with ecology. This chapter explores the global energy
transition, driven by clean technologies that are transforming our present to build the best
possible future.
Hope! Six: The Secret Ingredient 58 mins – Weds 23rd September
The final ingredient to achieve it is simpler than it seems. This chapter highlights the critical
role of indigenous communities and the urgent need to eradicate gender inequality to
regenerate the planet and address the climate crisis.
