Agata’s Almanac – Film Screening with Macrobert Arts Centre
Following a successful launch, our climate-themed cinema series returns for its second screening, continuing to bring people together through films that explore our relationship with the natural world, community and change.
This time, we’ll be screening Agatha’s Almanac, a meditative portrait of fiercely independent 90-year-old Agatha Bock, who lives alone on her ancestral farm in Canada. Tending her land by hand, cultivating heirloom seeds and working without running water, a car or phone, Agatha’s daily rituals offer a calm, vivid counterpoint to the pace of contemporary life.
Audiences are invited to gather before and after the screening to connect, reflect and continue the conversation in an informal setting.
Alongside the film, visitors can also experience Grandma from the Corner in Macrobert’s Playhouse Foyer: a photography exhibition by Uliana Storoshchuk about a 94-year-old woman in western Ukraine who remains in her village to care for the animals that depend on her.
